Rachel Cannon
Rachel Cannon is a partner at Steptoe LLP who works on high-stakes legal matters for individuals and companies. She focuses her practice on trial work, investigations, white-collar criminal defense, and complex civil litigation. A seasoned trial lawyer, she has tried 19 jury trials and dozens of bench trials, and has briefed and argued numerous cases in the US Court of Appeals. Rachel previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago where she prosecuted a wide variety of fraud cases involving more than US$100 million in losses. She also teaches Trial Advocacy as an adjunct professor at Northwestern Law School.
Cassandra Sumner
CPA
Cassandra Sumner is the Unit Chief of the FBI Forensic Accountant Unit. She leads and oversees forensic accountant operations across all FBI field offices and Headquarters. Ms. Sumner has over 19 years of forensic accounting, auditing, and corporate financial analysis experience. Ms. Sumner started her FBI career in 2012. As a Forensic Accountant and Supervisory Forensic Accountant, Ms. Sumner performed and supervised expert financial analysis that led to hundreds of successful criminal guilty pleas and convictions. Ms. Sumner has testified in several federal criminal trials, presenting significant financial summaries of evidence. She has a BS and master's in accounting.
